Why SKEEN?

Why SKEEN?

I'm Rocyie, founder of SKEEN and someone who has lived with psoriasis for as long as I can remember. For years, my skin was a daily battle. I tried countless products that promised relief, only to feel like an experiment. Or worse, punished for having a condition I never asked for.

SKEEN was born from that struggle and a very personal promise: to create skincare that genuinely understands sensitive and compromised skin, not just one that claims to.

That promise is why I refused to stop at good intentions. I wanted proof. So we formulated SKEEN Rescue Spray around Hypochlorous Acid (HOCl), the same molecule your body naturally produces to fight bacteria and inflammation. We spent months getting the concentration and pH exactly right, medical-grade, stable, and effective. Then we put it through independent clinical testing under internationally recognised ISO standards, achieving a skin irritation score of 0.0, 106% cell viability, and passing the ocular safety test at full concentration with zero redness and zero pain.

We then submitted our formulation to the Medical Device Authority of Malaysia for registration, going through the same rigorous review process required of hospital-grade medical equipment. Not because we had to. Because our customers deserve that level of accountability.

This is not just a brand to me. It is a commitment to everyone living with psoriasis, eczema, acne, or sensitive skin, that you will never be an afterthought. Every product we make is built on science you can trust, tested to standards that matter, and created by someone who truly understands what it feels like to need something that actually works.

Your skin story matters. And I am honoured to walk this journey with you.

FAQs

1. What is in SKEEN Rescue Spray?

HOCl stands for Hypochlorous Acid. Your body already produces it naturally. When your immune system detects bacteria or inflammation, your white blood cells produce HOCl to fight back. SKEEN harnesses this same molecule and delivers it directly to your skin.

2. What makes SKEEN's HOCl different?

HOCl is difficult to formulate correctly and most products on the market degrade quickly. SKEEN Rescue Spray is medical-grade, formulated at a skin-safe pH and 0.02% concentration. Our formula is certified stable for 2 to 3 years, so every bottle works consistently from first use to last.

3. How does HOCl help itchy, inflamed skin?

HOCl is a broad-spectrum antimicrobial, meaning it fights a wide range of common bacteria on the skin's surface. This includes Staph bacteria, which is a key trigger for eczema flares and acne.

SKEEN Rescue Spray targets these bacteria directly, while also

  • Accelerating skin repair
  • Reducing redness and inflammation
  • Help break the itch-scratch cycle that keeps sensitive skin from recovering.

4. Is SKEEN Rescue Spray safe for pregnant women and children?

Yes. SKEEN Rescue Spray contains

  • No steroids
  • No alcohol
  • No fragrance
  • No harsh preservatives.

It is safe for daily use by pregnant women, nursing mothers, babies, and young children.

Patch test first and consult your doctor if you have specific medical concerns.

5. Can I use SKEEN Rescue Spray on my face, scalp, or body?

Yes. SKEEN Rescue Spray is safe to use on all areas of the body including the face, scalp, and skin folds. It is gentle enough for sensitive areas and can be applied wherever skin is irritated, inflamed, or open wounds. Simply spray directly onto the affected area and let it absorb.

6. Does SKEEN Rescue Spray have any side effects?

No. It contains no ingredients that strip or disrupt your skin barrier. It is safe for daily use, long-term use, and suitable for all skin conditions. If you experience any unexpected reaction, stop use and consult a dermatologist.

7. What is SKEEN Rescue Spray's pH and concentration?

SKEEN Rescue Spray is formulated at a skin-safe pH of 6.5 to support your skin’s natural barrier. Its 0.02% HOCl concentration is precisely calibrated to fight bacteria and reduce inflammation without causing irritation, even on compromised skin with daily use.

8. What does the MDA registration number mean?

MDA stands for Medical Device Authority of Malaysia. Registration requires product testing, clinical documentation, and manufacturing audits. When you see SKEEN's MDA number on the packaging, it confirms our product has been verified to meet medical-grade standards independently.

9. What can I use SKEEN Rescue Spray for in everyday moments?

SKEEN Rescue Spray fits easily into your daily routine, not just flare ups.

You can use it:

• After workouts to cleanse sweat prone skin

• After shaving to soothe irritation and razor burn

• On sun exposed skin to calm redness and heat

• For sweat rash or in hot, humid weather to reduce irritation and bacteria buildup

• On mosquito bites or minor irritations to reduce itching

• On small cuts and wounds to support skin recovery

• Anytime during the day when your skin feels sensitive or uncomfortable

Think of it as a quick reset for your skin, anytime it needs calming and support.

10. Why is it called a “Wound Recovery Spray” on the bottle?

“Wound Recovery Spray” is the product’s registered medical name under Malaysia’s Medical Device Authority Malaysia (MDA).

For approval, products must be labelled based on a specific medical function. Hypochlorous acid (HOCl) is widely used in clinical settings to clean and support wound healing, which is why this name is used for registration.

At the same time, HOCl is also highly effective for managing everyday skin concerns such as irritation, inflammation, and flare-prone conditions.

SKEEN brings both worlds together - a medical-grade solution trusted in wound care, made gentle and versatile enough for daily skin support.

In short, the name reflects its clinical foundation, while its use extends to modern skin recovery and care.
